The Cotton Bowl Classic (Cotton Bowl) is one of the six bowl games in the College Football Playoffs, rotating as one of the hosts for the semifinals in the four-team playoff. The first game was played in 1937, and has been an annual game since, matched up current feature schools from the old Southwest Conference against the best of the Southeast Conference. Held in the Fair Park Stadium, it was renamed the Cotton Bowl Stadium and has become an iconic part of Dallas since its opening. The Cotton Bowl was held there from 1937-2009. Now pitting two elite teams, the Cotton Bowl has been held at the state-of-the-art, opulent 80,000-seat AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas since 2010.
